Richard Joseph Lynch, age 85 of Leesburg, VA died August 21, 2011 at Capital Caring of Arlington, VA. Born on March 20, 1926 in Michigan he was the son of the late Augustine and Agnus Lynch. Mr. Lynch served his country in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1966, where he Retired as Lt. Commander. After his service in the Navy ended in 1966, he continued to work as a Civil Servant for the Naval Tela-Communications till 1992. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren showing up at all their events.
He is survived by his wife Joann Lynch of Leesburg, VA; son Joseph F. Lynch of Round Hill, VA; daughters Katie M. Lynch of Fairfax, VA; Mary F. Finley of Ellicott City, MD; Patti A. Sinnen of Waterford, VA; Molly M. Quick of Hamilton, VA; Teresa A. Wheeler of Leesburg, VA; fifteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Francis, Tom, and John Lynch and one sister Margaret Ann Flynn.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, Purcellville, VA. Burial will take place in Arlington Cemetery.
