Margaret "Peggy" Rita Kennicott, 60, of Waldorf, Md., died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007.

Ms. Kennicott was born June 18, 1946, in Nashua, daughter of the late Robert William Frenette Sr. and Gertrude G. Castonguay Frenette.

She was a retired computer software developer with the Navy, where she worked for 33 years. During her career, she worked at the White House and the Naval Communication station at Cheltenham, Md., and the Washington Navy Yard. She worked on automating Navy communications, including the Naval communication processing and routing system, the Navy's directory update and service center, and the fleet message exchange system. She was a team leader much of her career and received many ACT awards.

Ms. Kennicott was a member of the Pink Ladies, Syncopated Rhythm, Westside Cloggers and the Leisuretts Dance Group.

Following high school, she served with the Air Force from 1964-67. Ms. Kennicott was Catholic. She was a 1964 graduate of Alvirne High School in Hudson.

Survivors include a daughter, Kristin Kenny of Waldorf, Md.; two brothers, Robert W. Frenette and William R. Frenette and his wife, Susan, all of New Hampshire; and two sisters, Jean T. Frenette of New Hampshire and Patrisha H. Frenette of Vermont.

Raymond Funeral Service in La Plata, Md., is in charge of arrangements.

More details will be included in the obituary that will be in Friday's Maryland Independent. I know Kris and Jean will be happy to see Peggy's friends on Monday so hope you all can stop by. Peggy lived in the Pinefield subdivision that is off of RT.5/RT. 301 highway right after entering Charles County from PG county. The phone number is (301) 885-2102.
